Google Ads and all Google platforms that work with it, like Google Analytics, work using a set time zone and currency. The time zone and currency is set up when you first create your Google Ads account.

How do I change my Google Ads time zone?

Your set time zone determines the times shown on reports and affects other settings such as targeting.

If you want to check what time zone you have set in your account, you can do that as follows:

  1. Sign in to your Google Ads account
  2. In the upper right corner of the main screen, click the settings icon (the wrench), go to ‘Setup’, and click ‘Preferences’
  3. Scroll down to ‘Time zone’. It will be listed here.

Note: All items on your billing page will always be shown in Pacific Time, regardless of your set time zone.

You are unable to change your time zone manually. If you need to change the time zone on your account for whatever reason, you can do so by contacting Google. Be careful though: you can only do this once! After getting your time zone changed, you can never do that again for that account. We’re not sure why Google is so strict on this either, but that’s just how it is.

How do I change the currency in Google Ads?

Your set your currency when you create your account. It’s possible you may want to change this choice later, for example because you’ve moved. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to change the currency you use in your Google Ads account. If you want to change your currency, you’re unfortunately going to have to create a new Google Ads account. 

Note: the currencies and payment methods available to you may be limited depending on the country in which your account is registered. In Russia, for example, it’s only possible to pay in RUB.
